This is a great car but, I am older, retired and don't drive it enough anymore to keep it in shape. It needs to be a weekly driver at least. Corvairs run better the more and harder you drive them. It needs a new home. It is really quick and handles like it was on rails. Fun to drive. Popular at car events, it has won the people's choice award a few times. It's a Yenko Stinger tribute car. I bought it in CA. in 2008. It's painted ermine white with Acapulco blue racing stripes, paint still looks very good. The Turbo rocker panel stripe is a decal. It's powered by a 220 HP turbocharged engine, the engine number is T0107RL. It has a modified 2 barrel Weber 40 side draft carb, with water injection, the boost juice is included. It has a rebuilt for performance turbo from Grant Young at Wolf Enterprise. A spare turbo comes with it. New clutch and bearings. Corsa quick shift 4 on the floor shift. with black 8 ball size shift knob. Recently lubed and adjusted. New dual bearing distributor with points. All the mechanical, electrical, brake, engine, suspension, carb and fine tuning done by "Fast" Eddie Meadows, expert Corvair mechanic and racer. He has a real Stinger that he still races. His car inspired me to do mine. He installed new brake lines and refreshed brakes. Removed, examined and cleaned the heads, valves, valve springs and installed new head gaskets and exhaust gaskets. Installed new gas shocks, coil springs and some bushings. It has convertible coils in front to lower it. New electric fuel pump. Finned aluminum oil pan and valve covers. Chrome Edelbrock oil filler cap and new turbo badge on rear deck. Aluminum engine side panels for better cooling and looks. It comes with vintage American Racing Daisy Mags and Firestone Indy 500 raised white letter tires, they don't make the white letter ones anymore. 215x60x14 front, 235x70x14 rear. Spare Indy 500 tires on rims come with it. The interior is all original, the front seats are hard to find factory bucket seats with built-in headrests. Padded dash. Original carpet in good shape. It needs a headliner, a new one comes with the car, it needs to be installed. The interior is in good shape, no tears or rips, other than headliner. I installed digital oil pressure, oil temp and amp gauges in dash. Clock works! New window fuzzes and rubber door seals. New rubber seals on engine compartment and trunk. It has an adjustable length steering column, 14" racing steering wheel with new horn button. Only 66,000 original miles .Remember, you can't take your money with you but, you can buy this car and make some good memories to take with you. Driving this car is lots of fun. There are not many like it available. Prices are going up, parts are easily available and inexpensive. There is a National Corvair Club, CORSA and many local clubs around the country to meet with other owners, check out their cars and party. It is for sale locally and could be pulled at anytime. Please, don't bid if you can't afford it. |
