Up for sale is a 1956 Ford F-350 Cab and Chassis that was an ex-tow truck for a junkyard / car dealership in Idaho. The rear bed was in very bad shape and unsafe to use. Not very much or is any at all rust, there was some rust on the top where it was painted black after I sanding with 120 grit paper. This is were they had top lights and a bar for mirrors mounted on top. The floor boards are in very good shape, there are some dents, scrapes and holes on top that have been done after the one outside repaint with yellow primer. A new bumper and outside mirrors were added to the front and sides. Only good glass is the rear window. It would not take very much to get this truck back to the original Meadow Green paint it came with from the factory in 1956. It still has its original 272 cu. in. V8 engine and there is a note on a piece of tape "2003 stand. - .030 " to me, it was rebuilt and bored to .030 over in 2003, it runs nice with a 2 Bbl. 94 style carb. but Ford brand, with a newer K&N style air cleaner and a K&N breather at the oil fill hole. New oil as well as a new spin on filter has been added. Changed oil in the transmission as well as the rear end. Transmission is a Full Synchro-Silent 4 speed trans. And the rear end is the Rockwell B-100 with 4:86 gears. Once you pull out the choke to start her and warm her up she runs very well and shifts smooth and steers easy. Lots of FUN TO DRIVE. The brakes have all been gone thru and all new parts there, NEW brake shoes, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, brake hoses all front and rear. The hand pull E-brake that is mounted on the back of the transmission will hold on flat ground and will need work to hold on a hill. New grease for the front wheel bearings, joints, spring pins and drive line. It rolls and stops vey nice know. The old tires were no good so I had them dismounted, then sandblasted the wheels that are 17.5" tall non split rims with a 6 lug on 7-1/4" pattern. New 215/75R17.5 Westlake Cm986 tires mounted on them and 1-1/16 lug nut covers over the lug nuts. They look cool. The engine got new plugs, plug wires and wire hold downs, cap & rotor. The exhaust got (2) new 30" Smithy mufflers and tail pipes. It does sound nice, not too load. Under side of the bellhousing & transmission looks bad with grease & dirt built up because I have not power washed it off. The clutch works great I thing it was new when the motor got rebuilt. I have not got the wipers to work but I found that all the lights work even the turn signals, there were no flashers back then and no seat belts back in 1956. A new bigger battery with a custom plate and battery hold downs as well as new battery cables, ground,+ side and cable to the starter. The very back got new 15" long tail / turn signal lights and new mud flaps also. The heater blows but the heater valve cable needs work, maybe when I do the upper and lower cooling system hoses and the heater hoses I will get it working. This truck is a BLANK CANVES for the back, all kinds of things can be done there get it ready for a parade or cruse with your company name on the side, service bed, flatbed w/ stripper pole or just beer keg's in the back, ramp truck with your belle tanker or drag car on the back. Location of this truck is 83686 zip code with a clear Idaho title. Please contact me for any info on the sale of this truck. Will help buyer or transporter with anything needed to load or ship this truck, but it is the Buyer that is responsible for vehicle pickup or shipping. |
