1955 CJ5 "Parade Jeep" with US Army 82nd Field Hospital M38A1 paint and markings. "Hot Lips" Equipped like an M38A1 with full Winter canvas top, side curtains and doors (no heater.) Driven almost daily in summer. Serial 18113, it's the 8113rd CJ built. Rebuilt from frame up in 2016 with new body mounts and engine mounts. Replaced all rusted or broken parts during rebuild.New front fenders. All other body and frame parts were sandblasted and painted with Korean War/early Vietnam War Olive Drab paint. New brake lines, brake hoses, brake cylinders and master cylinder. New radiator and hoses. All new clutch linkage, disc and pressure plate. Replaced all seals, gaskets and bearings in transmission and transfer case. Upgraded 12 volt electrical system with electric wipers, turn signals and larger military tail lights for safety. Custom electrical wiring harness using aircraft Tefzel wire. New driver seat and rear seat. All new canvas seat cushions front and back. Added seatbelts for safety. All new top bows and hardware. M38A1 instrument panel with new instruments. New gas tank. New M38A1 Exhaust system.. uses three bolt flanges instead of clamps. Electric fuel boost pump to ensure easy starting. Registered in Maine but also have a clean Alaska Title because Maine does not issue titles for antique vehicles. Comes with towbar. Replaced speedometer at 62,000 miles during rebuild and new speedometer indicate around 1500 miles. Runs great and a blast to drive, it gets a lot of comments. The Jeep spent it's whole life on a farm in Idaho and had very little rust. Another fellow in Oregon bought it to rebuild but never touched it. NO TRADES PLEASE. |
