For decades I imagined buying a 1962 Corvette, never seriously I guess but the day came finally 5 years ago. It had to be the prettiest color combo, red/red. Only an original 4 speed would do. No aftermarket nothing. I don't like headers, or those crazy non stock shifters everyone puts in these, I preferred as close to the way it was born. The carpet is super nice, the exterior paint is super nice too. the white top is good with no tears or rips. Skinny tires have lots of tread left. Stock brakes, stop as they should. Rear end is not noisey like some of the worn out ones I tested. I wanted a car with no race equipment. No crash evidence, all panels fit super well, no frame rust either. I bought it from the owner in California.this engine starts with a flip of the key, no cranking and cranking, just verroom. All synchros work, no grinding. Clutch is great. Doesn't pull left or right.But.............I just never use the car anymore. Once a month I take it around, that's about it.Questions feel free to ask. Don't know what else to say. Time to pass the torch.Regarding the tach & tach drive distributor question, yes it has both & they both work, aftermarket plug wires, NAPA cap/rotor. May trade up or down on something interesting, I like muscle cars, old trucks, maybe an antique motorcycle. |
