CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
Nice, mostly original, 1965 A Code Fastback 2+2 with manual 4-Speed transmission and factory console. One family owned since new until I acquired it a few months ago. This is a very solid sheetmetal car. In the late 80's the original owner had new rear quarters and trunk floor installed. At this time the car was repainted in its original Wimbledon White color. The car still retains its original interior that is in exceptional shape for its age. The dash pad doesn't have any cracks! The drivers seat does have a seam that is split as shown in the pictures. The headliner has one hole above the passenger visor. After the original owner had the body work and paint performed, the car was parked in an enclosed garage and sat for 30+ years as shown by the January 1989 license plates and registration receipt. Original documentation includes the copy of title transfer within the original family, original name and VIN on owners manual with warranty card issued from the selling dealership in Wilbur, NE on June 28th, 1965. After we acquired the car we installed new brakes, master cylinder, hoses and rear brake lines. We also rebuilt the original carburetor and installed new spark plugs, points and plug wires. We also installed a new gas tank along with fuel pump and fuel line. New radiator hoses were installed after we flushed the cooling system. The oil was changed and we installed new valve cover gaskets and shock absorbers. We installed 15" vintage Torq Thrust wheels with newer tires. This car runs and drives down the road as it should. It doesn't smoke or vibrate and stops straight. It could use a new exhaust. The body is straight and the doors close and line up nicely as do the windows. The paint still looks great from 10 ft but a wetsand and buff would do miracles! The driver side fender does have some cracking of the paint as shown in the picture below the fender emblem. The trunk does not have a mat but the car does come with the original wheel covers, spare tire and scissor jack. All gauges, switches and lights work. The heater throws heat. The radio was upgraded to a Custom Autosound AM/FM cassette in April of 1985 as documented. The original AM radio is included. A car like this is a very rare find. These cars don't come up often. Don't miss out on this one!
