CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
I've owned this car since 1988 when it was purchased at the recommendation of a good friend who is the best mechanic north of Smoky Yunick's garage. I only drove the car on occasional weekends in Alabama until 1992 due to a reassignment from St. Louis to Seattle with the Federal government and did not start driving it again until about 3 years ago just to keep it exercised. I detailed the engine bay about 2013, rebuilt the brakes with new drums, pistons and DOT 5 fluid. The fuel tank and sending unit were replaced. I replaced the Dual Point distributor (saved) with a US made Mopar electronic ignition as shown in pics. We've installed an electric choke "Edelbrock" 600 cfm carb to make it start and run correctly (original Carter AVS saved). Radiator was reworked in 2013. There are some small things that need attention since no car sits around for this long without needing "just a few more things". The car is reliable and a blast to drive AND runs better than it ever did while Ive owned it! The Hurst shifter works well and the car just needs to be driven. All the chrome (bumpers rechromed, exhaust tips, etc) is in great shape and will clean up. The original vinyl is excellent and just needs to be given a coat of vinyl conditioner (or I'll do it for you). A tear along stitching in the right seat has been repaired. The small things are enjoyable to do, as all the major lifting has been done. Not working include: dash lighting , tachometer, window crank handle needs replacing (I have one...just haven't replaced it yet). left wiper shaft needs new foam seal, rubber dust boots on tie rod ends need replacing, etc I'm selling this car as I have three other Barracudas, which include another '69 340 "S" with automatic, AC, pwr steering etc. And that one is more suitable for a 70 year old than the adrenaline producer this one is. I also have one with a 340 W2 engine that will blow about anything away and that one I'll keep? I have a suitable flatbed and an enclosed trailer to assist in transporting the car. PLEASE CALL ME at (256) 734-5078 for any questions you may have about car condition, payment and delivery options. I am returning immediately from my second residence in Seattle to my residence in Vinemont AL If you text me I'll return the call as soon as possible. If you're reading this far, you know how rare this unmolested, numbers matching, muscle car is. It was minimally outfitted and engineered for the sole purpose of going quickly from a dead stop...and for cruising and showing off. I just never found the time, so it's time to move on. I'm searching for Gauvin's website and will try to come up with production numbers and those still known to exist. If anyone can help me, please feel free to do so with the numbers.
