What it is: A 1966 Bundeswehr Unimog radio box that is partially transformed into a camper up for grabs here (the two seats fold into a bed). It is a project, and not a small one. Has a Honda generator, I haven't started it but don't see why it wouldn't work. Also has the pulse jet engine on top to provide heating, that will probably need a little work before it works. Clutch broke on me due to the original owner using what looks to be an old part of the original clutch in the new clutch which caused the failure. Has rust that should be taken care of, but nothing that's a huge problem. Pictures were taken the day the clutch broke about 8 months ago, not much has changed other than slowly taking it apart. It does have all new breaks, muffler/exhaust pipe, rubberized cloth canopy top for the cab, new fuel line, and engine would work if it weren't disassembled, but last time I started her it was fine with no issues. I have begun the process of getting to the clutch, but don't have too much time so it's going to be a bit until I'm done. Right now only a few things need to come off before the cab can be taken off. I have a PDF and damaged paper version of the repair manual which tells you everything you need to know about how to replace the clutch. Price is negotiable, but I'm in no hurry to sell. Why: If someone knows what they're doing or is looking to learn, this is definitely a good vehicle. Price is high considering the amount of work, but if you know how to do the work then you're saving a couple thousand dollars in the long run. I'm willing to wait, I'll have it fixed at some point and I'll just up the price once that is done along with other cosmetic items.Only serious buyers. Feel free to contact me about questions and such, but please make sure you read the whole description. Note: Came with around $1,000 in camera equipment, if you buy it let me know if you want that included as well, as I have nothing to do with it. |
