1968 Chevy CamaroI’m selling my 1968 restomod Chevy Camaro, I've owned this car for 4 years and I've worked on it for 3 years, however it's now time for it to go. This car is just a weekend pleasure ride, it is a very powerful ride with the engine producing around 440hp according to the engine builder, however I find that it is closer to 400hp. This car is a classic muscle car and you feel the power with every press of the pedal, however this is not a race car, it is leisure ride that has never let us down, it is garage kept and never taken out in the snow or rain. When I purchased this car it was just a shell, no engine, no transmission, no rear end. I Stripped the car and replaced all of the sheet metal. It has new aftermarket doors, left and right fenders, wheel houses, cowl induction hood, Radiator support, front grill, two new headlights, left and right quarter outer panels and inner wells, trunk lid, rear spoiler, new billet aluminum tail lamps with leds, rear gas cap billet, fuel door, new windshield, and a new floor pan.The engine is a custom built 383 stroker motor purchased from Performance Chevy Products (invoice shown in pictures). The engine cradle was removed and wire cleaned, primed and undercoated and then reinstalled, including brand new bolts and body bushings. It has new power steering and power steering box, all new suspension, upper and lower tubular control arms, all new brake lines and new fuel lines purchased from Classic Camaro, front and rear disc brakes, new carburetor 780 Holly, new alternator, new water pump, vintage AC, new aluminum valve covers, new motor mounts, new high torque starter motor, new flywheel, new clutch assembly McLeod, M20 Muncie 4 Speed Trans, brand new Hertz shifter and linkage competition plus, new headers (had to be slightly modified to accommodate aluminium angle-plug spark plugs, there is no leakage or loss of power), Mallory electronic ignition distributor with a high powered coil, new universal on the drive shaft, completely rebuilt 12 bolt rear-end, brand posi assembly gears, axles and 373 gears, vehicle has brand new springs, new air shocks in rear, new dual exhaust system, new gas tank and gas tank straps, gas sending unit, brand new wheels and tires (Nankang 245/40R18/97H XL M+S, Rear 275/30ZR20 97Y XL). Brand new grill, new left and right marker lamp assembly, new battery, new 4 core aluminium radiator, 2 12” electric fan with shroud, kill switch installed in the front of the engine bay next to battery, new windshield wiper motor, windshield wipers and blades, new front and rear chrome glass mouldings. All of the electrical components are brand new, new front engine compartment harness and rear tail light harness new, and New Vintage USA American gauges. The whole car has been treated with dynamat sound deadening mats to ensure a more quiet and pleasant ride. It has also been treating with corrosion resistant undercoating to add longevity to the metal.. This is a restomod so the front and rear marker lights were deleted, front chrome bumper was deleted to achieve a more streamlined look, rear bumper cut, narrowed and fit to rear body so as to achieve a more appealing and uniform rear body. New front and rear spoilers. There is a new radio along with an antenna in the trunk, it is not installed because I couldn't bear to make a hole in the body. All new upholstery on front and rear seats, left and right door panels, left and right door panel assemblies, brand new inner and outer door handles and glass cranks, brand new lock assemblies all around, left and right rear view mirrors outer and inner, new headliner professionally installed, new sun visors, gauges include RPM and have been designed to mimic original gauge cluster while including modern nuances, including nighttime blue light up of the gauges. Vintage air also mimics the look of the original dash AC knobs, new dash panel, new wooden steering wheel, steering column rebuilt, new wiper switch, light switch, ignition switch, new cigarette lighter and housing, new center console, new A/M seat belts, new rugs and new floor mats. I am certain there are other things I have done to the car to improve it that i just can’t recall off the top of my head, however the next owner can absolutely bring this car to the next level if they so choose. The only thing I would do if I was going to keep the car is put in a turpentine belt, but it's served me well all these years and ive never had an issue with it. I have seen other similar camaros with far less love and effort gone into them going for a lot more than this one is, this is a worthwhile investment for anyone from the newest driver to the most experienced collectors, as these vehicles almost never lose value. This was a project car for me in my retirement years and just look to my rating and reviews if you have any doubts as to my experience. This item is being sold AS IS, with no returns accepted. If you have any questions please feel free to shoot me a message and I will do my best to answer them. Happy Bidding! |
