Completely restored immaculate 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe. Featured in Mustang Monthly. About 6600 miles on a rebuilt modified straight six engine - 200 block on a 250 head. There are hardened valve seats so you don't have to worry about modern gasoline or any additives. I upped the CFM available to the engine with a Carter YF Carburetor and put in an Electronic Ignition. It has an electric choke that works perfectly. I haven't put it on a dyno, but the engine builder says that the larger intake manifold and carburetor boosts horsepower about 20%. There are about 2000 miles on the rebuilt C4 automatic transmission. Body and paint are immaculate. Body was stripped to bare metal and all lines perfectly matched up. I can provide photos of the progress of the paint and body work if you are interested. Interior was completely gutted and redone with two-tone Pony interior.Every available modern upgrade: Power disc brakes (SSBC) in the front, Borgeson power steering, modern Classic A/C, modern Retrosound radio/MP3 player with speakers front and rear, I've also included a bluetooth adapter, interior adjustable driver side mirror, remote trunk release, 15" XXR wheels, matching TMI center console, new sound proofing throughout, and LED interior lights. New fuel tank, heater box, heater core, regulator and more. Safety upgrades include 3 point seat belts, matching head rests, steel trunk/passenger compartment divider and package tray, day/night mirror, right side convex mirror, Koni shocks. All receipts for work. This is a very comfortable, extremely clean and reliable daily driver.Only known issue is the gasket on the back differential cover plate could stand replacing as there is a very slow weep of oil. When I say slow, I drained the oil and then filled it with new oil upon buying it and starting the rebuild. Ten years later oil was only 1/2 inch down and still remarkably clean. While I drive it once or twice a week (and only when the weather is good), I have only put 6500 miles or so on it since the complete rebuild finished about 4 years ago. This was a San Jose build so its never seen bad weather. Sheet metal is in great condition. When I bought it, there were the omnipresent cowl leaks and a few pin holes in the passenger side floor pan. The cowl leaks were fixed and the pin holes in the pans were coated with epoxy and Por-15. |
