CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
*******Please read complete description*******If you like original paint unmolested 57 Chevrolet's, than this car is for you.YOUTUBE video link here:https://youtu.be/03sQXo2ZiN8Nice Solid Original paint car, you can see what you are actually getting-nothing covered up, patched up, cut on, filled with bondo-like many of these cars are. Best thing is you can drive this car anywhere.I have over 12K in receipts for the work that has been done to this car. I actually have more in this car than I am asking, but that is usually how it works with old cars! NOTE: I am originally from Wichita ks, hence the Kansas references noted in description. I now live in York SC and the car resides with me as well. The engine was rebuilt by Chet Wilson engine shop in Wichita ks ( summer 2014)- ( the car ran and drove when I acquired it but the motor was making a bottom end noise and smoking some) rebuilt engine and trans have 3k miles on them ( barely broke in) Engine will drip a few drops of oil ( they all do) the cast iron powerglide will drip as well ( they all do as well)The transmission worked just fine but since it was out, had Chance transmissions in Wichita KS ( summer 2014) go through the transmission.Tons of new parts from Danchuck:A & G alignment in Wichita ks, went through the entire underneath of the car ( 2014), New brakes ( original drum style), New wire harness, cooker radial tiresBasically the car has been mechanically restored, with the original patina left alone4 owner car (2 of them are in the same family) I am the 4th owner. 78715 original miles. Original paint ( with exception to the deck lid), interior, and drive-train. 283 power-glide Purchased new in West VA-it was a originally a 2 barrel , single exhaust 283. around the late 60's the owner ditched the two barrel set up in favor of a 1968 4 barrel manifold, carter carb with power-pack heads and a rams head exhaust manifolds. The block is original and is coded as a two barrel. It was parked around the 1974 range in a garage and that is where it stayed until the original owners passed on and the car went to relatives.. It was then sold to a family friend in Kansas whom i purchased it from in Feb 2014. The car has been completely gone through mechanically. The engine was removed and rebuilt by Chet Wilson engine shop in Wichita ks. ( I located a original set of 57 power pack heads) The transmission (worked fine but since i had it out) was rebuilt by chance transmission in Wichita ks. All new hoses, radiator, heater core, radio, complete new wiring, all worn suspension components replaced, new cooker tires, all new brakes. restored 1957 carter carb. drive shaft rebuilt by power drive in Wichita ks. The car is mechanically restored and can be driven anywhere. The body is nice unmolested original, the car was undercoated when it was new-which really saved it. The undercoating is all coming off now and there is some light surface rust underneath the car which i can rub it with my finger and it comes right off no pitting. Under the carpet the floors still show original primer. No rust in the inner rockers or floor braces. The rear tail pan zero rust, trunk floor is beautiful , Bottom of front fenders no rust. I have thoroughly inspected this car on a lift. The only rust that exists is in the trunk on the top LH wheel well. The body has one minor crease on the rh side lower quarter, but overall one of the nicest ORIGINAL 57's you can find, that is not a rust bucket or been cut on. The paint has lots of crows footing and age cracking but from 15 foot looks pretty darn good. I think the deck lid at some point was touched in ( due to the fact it is not aged as much when compared to surrounding area), but there is no sign of any damage to the deck lid on the inside, so i assume must have been a cosmetic touch up. The front bumper, eyebrows and hood bar are new- I have the originals they go with the car. All other trim is original, the front bumper was peeling and eyebrows, hood bar were pitting. The interior is original and shows age. Carpet is worn on drivers side, seats are splitting and brittle, headliner starting to come apart on the front seam. ( doesn't bother me one bit. and most people enjoy seeing a unmolested car)I have taken this car to local cruise in's and parked next to restored cars and this car will get 10X the attention than restored ones-because they all have been painted, not very often do you see original paint cars in this presentable shape. It just has the ultra cool patina thing going for it.Don't like my price-feel free to make a offer!
