Factory GT example finished in its correct shade of Rangoon Red, 1965 FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK with 87,250 miles. Owned it for the past 7 years, well kept, no accidents, powered by its factory 289 V8 mated to the original Borg Warner T-10 4-speed manual transmission.Other factory options include Rally Pac gauges, the Pony interior, under hood chrome dress-up kit, deluxe seat belts, and a full-length console. In the mid 2000s, this GT was treated to a partial restoration that included new paint, refurbished trim, and an interior freshening.This Mustang was built in Metuchen, New Jersey on June 8th, 1965 and originally sold by Universal Motor Company in Richmond, Virginia. In the mid 2000s, the car was treated to a refurbishment in Colorado that included a professional repaint in its factory-correct Rangoon Red with white body stripes.The paint is now 10+ years old, in very good condition with several minor chips and a few paint stars. The passenger door has a slight bend at the front where someone opened the door too wide…The trunk retains its factory full-size spare wheel/tire and appears nicely finished in photos.The factory 14″ wheels are wrapped in matching Dunlop Axiom Plus whitewall tires with good tread remaining.This car was optioned with the Pony interior from the factory, which shows nicely with clean vinyl, door panels, carpeting, and brightwork.Both the engine and transmission remain in very good mechanical condition with regular fluid changes and the most recent service performed less than a year ago. During my ownership I replaced the clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel with Center-force units.This looks to be a very nice factory Mustang GT fastback with great options, clean cosmetics, and strong factory mechanicals.
