I can assist with financing and transport as needed.I don’t think there are many prettier sights than a Nassau Blue mid-year Corvette. This 1965 L76 convertible demonstrates this well. The impeccable lines and excellent paint make for a visual masterpiece. But fire up the solid-lifter 327 and listen to the side exhaust as you run through the gears, and it soon becomes clear how special the C2 generation really is.This Corvette was built in early January 1965. It spent many years in southern California and Texas which helped keep the frame free of any rust issues. The birdcage appears solid as well. There have only been two owners in the last 30+ years. They kept it well maintained as shown by a folder full of receipts (including almost $18k in recent paint and body work). The white top is in good condition and is easy to raise and lower. There is also the side exhaust which is not only a nice C2 accent but sounds fantastic too. The wheels have Cooper 205/75R15 tires along with correct 1965 covers. The 327ci 365hp engine was redone in 2004. The block was decked so the ID pad is blank, but it appears original to the car based on part numbers and dates. It is the correct 3782870 casting dated 12-6-64 along with 3782461 cylinder heads dated 12-10-64. The Muncie 4-speed transmission still carries its VIN stamp and is dated 12-12-64. Other L76 equipment includes a larger 8” balancer, Winters 3844461 aluminum intake, Holley 3849804 carburetor, and correct air cleaner. The engine rebuild used a factory equivalent Comp Cams 12-107-3 solid lifter setup along with roller tipped rockers. The rear end has been replaced with a unit from 5-7-65 and houses 3.55 gears for good all-around driving. The black leather interior is in good condition as the seat covers, carpet, and door panels have all been replaced. Some light dash pad cracking is present near the top of each pod. The teak 3-spoke steering wheel is always a highlight on a C2 interior. All gauges work properly including the 6,500-redline tachometer. There is a factory style AM/FM radio and the clock has been converted to a quartz movement (so it actually keeps good time). The horn, heater/defroster, dash lights, and parking brake are all functional too. The seat belts have been replaced with new aircraft style pieces. And the headlight motors have been redone and operate smoothly.1963-1967 Corvettes continue to be some of the most desirable cars on the market. They are a spectacular automotive design, provide plenty of driving fun, and are easy to live with and maintain. Why not let this 1965 be your ticket into the C2 club?
