CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
Up for auction is a 1972 Mercury Comet. When I got it , the maverick rear bumper and tail lights were already on the car. However it comes with the original rear bumper rechromed and original tail lights if the new owner would like to put it back to the comet rear. The car is 100% original running gear, and rust free. It has spent it's whole life in Arizona. It runs, drives, and looks good. Pump the gas once and it fires right up and goes on high idle like it should, give it a minute, and pump the gas again and it goes down on low idle and purrs like a kitten. Does not burn or leak any oil. Definitely not a hot rod, but the 302 with 2 BBl carb scoots pretty good. It is not real GT, but I liked the look, so I installed the GT package on it. Painted it Ford electric Blue, put a full butt stripe on it, and it turned out nice. Not perfect, but nice, that was awhile ago, so it does have some minor chips and few small scratches. The odometer shows 116K miles on it and I would bet that's original, but the title will reflect exempt. All the lights work, even the side markers. The windows roll up and down like they should and the doors close nice and tight with new seals and window felts. The A/C was disconnected before I got it, and I never messed with it other than there is one hose missing and the idler pulley is froze up. Interior is in really good condition, with the exception of a couple cracks on top of the Dash, where a dash pad cover sits on top, and the door panels have a couple of small cracks starting. Drum brakes all around, and work good with about 70% left on those. The tires are around 40% tread and starting to dry out, so they will need to be replaced fairly soon. All in all, still a nice looking, good running little car. If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot me a message and I will answer as best I can. A $1000 deposit is due immediately, and full payment would be due in 3 days.
