1973 Dodge Dart* All steering gear, suspension parts, transmission, drive shaft, rear end , brake and fuel lines were removed from under the car:* Under side of floor pan ( there was NO rust ) was wire brushed and sub frame connectors were welded in and then the under side of the pan and the wheel wells were sprayed with two coats of "Eastwood" rubberized undercoating. The inside of the rust free rocker panels was sprayed with Zinc Chromate rust preventative.* All steering gear wear items (rod ends, ball joints etc) were replaced with "Moog" parts, rear springs were re arched and re installed with Poly bushings and new KYB gas shocks were installed.* OEM torsion bars were upgraded to V-8 AC bars and the lower control arms were boxed.* OEM 7.25 rear end was replaced with an 8.25 3.55 "Suregrip" rear end. Axle end bearings and seals were replaced and all rear drum brake parts out board of the backing plates are brand new with the exception of the drums which were turned.* Front manual drum brakes were replaced with 1974 "A" body disk brakes with new bearings, rotors, calipers and pads.Power brake booster was added.* Brake lines and fuel line are NEW.* Re furbished 14" Big Bolt Pattern Police steel wheels and new tires were installed* Rust was found in the right rear of the trunk and patch panel was installed ( This was the only rust found on the car )* Entire interior was removed to the steel. Floor pan from firewall to tail light panel was sprayed with bed liner, sound/heat barrier, carpet pad and new carpet were installed, All inner panels and rear seats were dyed grey and reinstalled.. Pontiac Firebird front buckets were installed (drivers seat is powered)* Steering column was disassembled, new bearings were installed (lower plastic bushing was replaced with a bearing), and the column was modified to remove the OEM automatic gear selector and indicator then reinstalled with a new steering wheel (the original has more cracks than plastic) . Instrument cluster was reinstalled after replacing the amp meter with a volt meter.* A904 automatic transmission was replaced with an A833 4 speed OD transmission and a clutch/brake pedal assembly. with new clutch/pressure plate/ bearing. The drive shaft was shortened, balanced and installed with new universal joints.* A complete new exhaust system was installed* Unreliable OEM electronic ignition system was replaced with a much more reliable GM HEI system. The benefit being that the engine starts easier, idles better and if anything should fail, parts are available at any auto parts store in the country.* A new Denso 90 AMP alternator was installed along with upgrading the under hood and under dash wiring to match.* The new paint is an OEM Chrysler color named "Maximum Steel Metallic"* Windshield is new* Weather stripping is new.* Included is a full set of factory service manuals and a car cover, and a new radio and speakers.* If your ultimate goal is a V-8 car, this body is ready to drop one in without the hassle of sheet metal/body work.
