We love our British classics here at Greg and Johns- this is where we cut our teeth in the collector car world. We really like this TR4 for a lot of reasons. The first thing you will notice is that it is very fairly priced- not everything needs to be a concours winner and priced like one. This is a great jump in, hit the key and have a blast car. Mechanically this car is very, very solid and good. With compression from 1 to 4 running from 150 to 155 we know the motor is healthy and it performs like it. Engine and trans operate well and perform just as they would have in 63. We will note that the engine number indicates it came out of a later 4. As we did our inspection and fluid change, we did note new brakes- drums, shoes and adjusters. Also new ball joints up front and a new battery installed by us. Everything works on the car and when you go down the road, I will guarantee a smile. Finished in a nice coat of British Racing Green we assume this car was restored very early in life and was color changed from white. No harm no foul here in that the engine compartment, trunk and door jambs were all done at the same time. I'd call the paint serviceable with a nice shine but showing signs of age. Some would call it patina I'd call it nice driver quality. Again, if you are thinking Pebble better be thinking $40K. The interior and top present quite nicely the seats are very presentable, the dash and door panels very nice and the top is good with a clear rear window. The steering wheel is a beautiful wood example. Carpeting is showing a bit of fade- could be dyed or simply replaced or heck with it drive the wheels off of it. The underside of this little 4 is very solid with no signs of anything other than normal surface rust. The fenders and rockers are good all the way.
